Mr. Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah Jamot was born on 15 April, 1941 in Matiari. After having his early education in the most prestigious educational institutions of the country, he opted for education in agriculture and earned B.Sc. degree in agriculture from Tando Jam. He undertook agriculture as a profession and also took special interest in politics and the welfare of the people of his area. He had been President of the Pakistan Muslim League Functional, Sindh and was also a member of the Boards of Governors of Aitcheson College Lahore and Agriculture College Tando Jam. He was a model farmer and had undertaken mechanized and cooperative farming. He had visited a large number of countries on representative missions as well.

Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah Jamot was elected as member of the Senate in 1973 which he continued till 1977 and was re-elected to the Senate of Pakistan in 1985 for a six year term. He was again elected as Senator in 1991 for a six year term. He also represented Pakistan at United Nations Session in 1986, led Pakistan’s delegation to the International Forestry Congress held at Mexico City, Mexico and the delegation to Agricultural Farmers Cooperative Seminar in Asia and Far East held at Kuala Lampur, Malaysia.

Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah Jamot was honored for being member of the Senate Standing Committees on Commerce, Industries and Production, Water and Power and Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis.
